Quick Mental Math Tips
- 10% Off: Move the decimal one spot left. ($50 -> $5 off)
- 20% Off: Double the 10% number. ($50 -> $5 x 2 = $10 off)
- 30% Off: Triple the 10% number. ($50 -> $5 x 3 = $15 off)
"Stacking" Discounts
Stores often say "Take an extra 20% off the sale price". This does NOT mean you just add the percentages. You take 20% off the already discounted price, which is slightly less than you think.
